What is HavenCon?

HavenCon is a small, community based, LGBTQIA+ multigenre fandom convention that takes place in Austin, Tx.

2022’s convention takes place April 22-24 at the Austin Marriott South

Our programming focus on showcasing the amazing talents of LGBTQIA+ community and LGBTQIA+ affirming creators. We invite speakers in from around the country as well as offering space for community members to host panels of their own. This year we have authors, illustrators, podcasters, video game creators, and cosplayers joining us to talk about creating from an intersectional queer perspective. We also have a number of community panels that range from queer history and representation in different media, fanfiction, cosplay, dancing and more.

We also host a number of interactive events at the con; craft workshops with our quests, fandom and queer culture games, a cosplay showcase to show off you favorite costumes, a live shadow cast showing of Rocky Horror Picture Show, a drag show, and of course a tabletop gaming room for folks to get a chance to play some games with friends and make some new ones!

We are, at our core, a community of fans and creators supporting fans and creators. We work to promote queer content creators and to help inspire and empower those who are interested in becoming content creators themselves.

Who is HavenCon?

We are a community of LGBTQIA+ geeks, nerds, gamers, and fanfolk.

The HavenCon team are LGBTQIA+ community members and allies who believe that we all deserve a place to be out while we geek out. You can find out more about our team members on our meet the team page.

When is HavenCon?

The next HavenCon will take place April 22-24th, 2022

Where is HavenCon?

Why is HavenCon…?

So amazing? Wonderful? The best weekend of the year?? The place for you to meet and geek with all your new best friends?

In all seriousness, HavenCon is all about providing a fun and inclusive space for our fellow fandom folks (Listen, I gotta put this English degree to use somehow). Cons are getting more and more inclusive and that is fantastic! Since our inception in 2015 HavenCon has sought to not just include but focus on the queer fandom community.

We know that sometimes we feel like we can only express parts of ourselves and that isn’t the best feeling. So HavenCon is a place where queer geeks and their friends can come and enjoy their fandoms as their authentic selves.

I’m an ally, can I come to HavenCon?

OF COURSE! We are all about inclusion here at HavenCon. And we want all of our fandom friends to join us as we celebrate the amazing nerdom that is out there.

We will have clearly marked Mask Required Seating sections at the front of each panel room as well as at registration and Mask wearing will be enforced in those areas.
